DFI 4. Dealing with Data Agenda, Auckland + Hamilton DFI Cohorts: 2021

DFI 4. Dealing with Data Agenda, Auckland + Hamilton DFI Cohorts: 2021

GOOGLE FORMS

Creating a form is straightforward and simple. The variety of questions is handy when presenting a survey. Using visual cues is appealing to the eye for our participants. Ensuring that the settings are sorted to gather and present data and information.

GOOGLE MAPS

I Learned a few skills here. Was not really interested in this application of google. However, I have picked up the basics.

GOOGLE SHEETS

Knowledge of how to set up a sheet and set up basic calculations and formulas. Being able to filter data is a handy tip. It is also very awesome that once a sheet is embedded into a Google Site it stays updated and current. Understanding how to format cells effectively are the next steps for me.

Kia ora mai ano, here is a reflection of the 3rd DFI session. This session was online and delivered through GOOGLE MEET.

YOUTUBE - We created a personal YOUTUBE channel and playlist to manage content suitable for classroom and learners.

GOOGLE DRAW - Here is a platform to create content in a different way. Have learnt how to crop and insert images, changing backgrounds and text/font. We have embedded some of these DFO's into our blogs.

SLIDES - I am familiar with Google Slides and this sessions exposed to me a few more hacks to work more efficiently.

Flow Agenda Day 2

Auckland F2F Cohort - Friday 14th May

Hoki mai ano ki tenei kainga rua rangatira rawa atu. Katahi ano te ao miharo ko te ao hangarau matihiko.
As I return back to this new warm second home of mine. There is know better place than this amazing Googleverse.

HAPARA
I am so grateful that Manaiakalani has partnered with a New Zealand software team that has developed the Hapara Teachers Dashboard. This platform is amazing to safeguard and monitor our tamariki and their digital footprint. We have recently received admission rights. Now have set up folders for each class and registered all our taitamariki. Our teachers have are having time in the sandpit checking out the different functions and tools.

GOOGLE MEET
Very confident of how to set up a google meeting wether it would through the google calendar platform or from gmail. Inviting guests, setting times and having strong etiquette online is paramount.

GOOGLE KEEP
This application has been very handy. The fact you can open a keep tab whilst in all google applications is gold. Having reminders keeping you on your toes and staying productive. Tagging notes to emails is very helpful reminding me on the 5ws of the reason for taking these notes.

GMAIL
Labelling and starring emails and senders has been helpful. Smart workflow and staying on top of my emails has been a passion of mine. Scheduling emails was also a takeaway gem.

CALENDAR
I have managed my time and schedule events efficiently from this PLD. Ensuring that I have not double booked a kaupapa is a big help. Being able to run and share a school calendar with key dates and events in the calendar keep our team 5 steps ahea. Grateful having the ability to run multiple calendar and events. Therefore invite guests to different events in your calendar wether it may be face to face or through google meets.

BLOGGING
Blogger is a space to which is multi-purposed platform fo learners and teachers. I need to learn to reflect and document my learnings as part of normal day to day practice. I have learnt how to embed videos into my blog. But also need to practice this process. Ensuring permissions are sorted with a view all function. Learning the power of html text to display content in a more effective way is a work in progress.

DFI 1. Core Business Agenda, Auckland F2F Cohort: 2021

Core Buiness Day 1
Auckland F2F Cohort

Kāti ra, me mihi ka tika ki te kaupapa. Our kura is so stoked to be apart of the Manaiakalani Digital Fluency initiative. Myself and a lead kaiako are apart of an online and F2F facilitation this term. We are excited to learn skills to share with our tamariki and support learning within a digital context.

He rawe te whakarongo atu ki te orokohanga o te kaupapa nei. It was choice to hear again the background story of Manaiakalani. Dorothy Burt is amazing and Im so appreciative of having time learning from her.

Vicki Arthur supported us with context around using Google CHROME. I managed to organise my profiles keeping a professional account seperate from personal accounts.

Google EXTENSIONS have been downloaded and added to specific profiles.

GROUPS were created to assist with communication. Labelled groups for Staff, Teachers, Students and parents have been created.

MY DRIVE is alot more organised thanks to our chalk and talk. Knowing how to STAR and recolour folders have been a huge help.

GOOGLE DOCS is another tool to draft and present work. Hyperlinks were a huge gold moment from this session. Also using the heading and explore tools were helpful. Inserting images and video is also a breeze. Knowing how to set up my page was a very important initial step also.

BLOGGING - I did not have access to my blog at this stage so was not very productive at this time.

LAST WORDS - Grateful for access to the rewindable content and Blogs of other DFI participants.
