DFI 9. External Recognition Agenda, Auckland F2F DFI 2021

Kua tae atu ki tona mutunga o te DFI. Heoi ano, koia noa iho nei ko te timatanga. E kore nga mihi e mutu ki te kaupapa nei.

The end has arrived however it is only the beginning. Thank you so much for the 9 sessions of Digitaly Intensive FUSTRATION/FUN. I have really enjoyed these sessions and even the exam that I took this morning.

I have full faith in the cohort who would have passed with flying colours all thanks to the great facilitator AUSTIN. Take my hat off to all kaimahi at MK, a specially mihi to the POU o te whare Dame Dorothy.

The future is promising. I am so excited to continue to have a relationship with this kaupapa and look forward to working together one day. Te Reo Maori for Facillitor for Manaiakani may be on the horizon.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini ke. ‘My strength is not that of a single warrior but that of many. Thanks for the support in this wero. E kore nga mihi e mutu.

DFI 8. Computational Thinking Agenda, Auckland F2F DFI 2021

DFI 8. Computational Thinking Agenda, Auckland F2F DFI 2021

Today I felt very empowered with the learnings of teachings of these DFI's. Very grateful of the matauranga and the framework Manaiakalani uses to promote digital education. Technology is more than just a tool and we have been showcased to a range of evidence throughout the 8 sessions as how.

It is quite scary where technology is heading. A lot of jobs are becoming automated and ensuring our kids are equipped to keep up with these competitive technologies.

Getting a chance to have a tutu with scratch helped to explain quite a technical component called Computational Thinking or programming.

Preparing for the Google exam and registering was the remaining mahi for the day. I feel confident with what I have learnt so far to give the exam a decent crack. Thanks to all the facilitators of the Manaiakalani Auckland DFI Cohort Term 2 2021. You guys rock.

DFI 7. Devices Agenda, Auckland F2F 2021

 DFI 7. Devices Agenda, Auckland F2F 2021

I am grateful for the Cybersmart Google Site provided by Manaiakalani to support us in the delivery of helping the children become digital cititzens.

Putting ourselves into the shoes of our learners was the next component of this session. Being able to understand the technicalities of migrating using a chromebook or ipad was somewhat challenging. Utilising the Google Slide Presentation regarding the Digital Dig and the use of shortcuts was fun.

How cruel are we as teachers not providing our tamariki an opportunity to access their learning again and again???????? Welcome to a MAJOR KEY called REWINDABLE LEARNING or aka AKO ANŌ. “If it’s worth TEACHING, it’s worth capturing. If it’s worth LEARNING, it’s worth capturing. The screencastify extension is a master stroke. Every class site of Multi Modul experience must have a rewindable learning experience. Have students record and castify their learning to their blogs also.

DFI 6. Enabling Access - Sites Agenda, Auckland F2F Cohort: 2021

6. Enabling Access - Sites Agenda, Auckland F2F Cohort: 2021

Here is a draft Google Site I made today, hopefully it is visible from the blog. This is begging stages of web development.

This is my draft school site, still currently working on it and making changes. Getting content and keeping a theme, making buttons, adding hyperlinks etc. I am not only making a classroom site but a school site. Teachers at my school are eventually going to be apart of the DFI so I am wanting them to create their own also.

DFI 5 - Collaborate - Sites Agenda, Auckland F2F Cohort: 2021

MULTI-MODAL

This multi-modal approach is very rewarding. As an effective educator I am passionate about providing multiple learning opportunities and experiences to promote the learning. Being mindful of providing multiple platforms of learning and activity I was pleased to see how supportive it is to provide for example a video/images/supporting texts/links to reinforce the learning.

GOOGLE SITES

My school has yet to launch a School Website. I have huge ambitions in launching our very first school website on the week of our 25th  birthday in September. From the DFI I am now confident in manipulating Google Sites inserting pages and embedding different content. Next steps are to polish certain pages and include more content. Also to remind myself to refer back to my plan and ensure a simple 3 click rule for students and visitors to access information.
